What this is. A live view of what public agencies have already published: USGS earthquakes (M4.5+), GDACS multi-hazard alerts (quake, cyclone, flood, drought, wildfire, volcano), US National Weather Service severe and extreme alerts, and NOAA space weather. Every dot keeps its source, timestamp and link. Nothing here is forecast, scored or blended into an index — separate feeds stay separate.
Reading it. Counts are compared with the same category's own previous 30 days, so a region with constant flooding does not read as news. A "usual" rate needs our own collection history, not the feeds' backfill, so nothing is compared until seven days of polling have accumulated — until then the page says "baseline building". Alerts without coordinates (US zone-only warnings) are stored but not plotted. "Alert level" is each feed's own wording ranked together: GDACS green/orange/red, NWS severe/extreme, and earthquakes by magnitude (M5+ notable, M6+ major) — GDACS posts hundreds of routine green wildfire notices, so the filter matters.
